Someone needs to remind the U.S. House of Representatives that marijuana is federally illegal.

The Democratic-controlled United States House of Representatives voted Wednesday to advance legislation that would allow banks to do business with marijuana businesses in states that have “legalized” marijuana despite marijuana being federally illegal.  The Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act known as the SAFE Banking Act would allow cannabis businesses to access financial services now unavailable to them because marijuana is federally illegal and shelter financial institutions from prosecution for doing business with marijuana businesses .  The legislation faces a tough path in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Senator Menendez is angry at Fox News for reporting he was on the beach in Puerto Rico during the government shutdown.

By now we’ve all seen the picture of Menendez shirtless on the beach in Puerto Rico with a woman during the government shutdown.  Menenzez traveled to Puerto Rico on a chartered flight with 30 other Democratic lawmakers, 109 lobbyists and corporate executives and their families to attend the Congressional Hispanic Caucus BOLD PAC winter retreat in San Juan.  The weather forecast in San Juan was sunny and 80 degrees.  Meanwhile the 5,487 New Jerseyans who work for government agencies that are not funded due to the shutdown were stuck in 31 degrees, snow and worried about how they will feed their families.  Menendez doesn’t seemed concerned about the government shutdown while he’s enjoying a $429 per night oceanfront resort in San Juan.

Is there is a mental health crisis within the Democratic party?

Psychology Today speculates that Trump Derangement Syndrome may be a legitimate mental condition.  In one of the worst cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome we’ve seen Democratic Senators Cory Booker and Robert Menendez along with Democratic Congressmen Albio Sires and Donald Payne Jr held a news conference at Newark Liberty International Airport today.  In an apparent attempt to sway opinion before President Trump’s address tonight Menendez told the press that the President’s address should come with a warning to viewers that “the comments you are about to hear are not based on fact and are likely to include misinformation, blatant lies and fear mongering”.    It seems to me that it is Menendez, Booker, Sires and Payne who are pandering to the uninformed with misinformation, blatant lies and fear mongering.

In case the people of NY were jealous of the people of NJ your Governor suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome also.

Just about every day we talk about New Jersey Governor Murphy challenging the federal government apparently thinking his power as Governor supersedes the federal government.  It seems that whatever Murphy sees when he looks in the mirror New York Governor Andrew Cuomo sees also.   In a December 16, 2018 speech Cuomo rolled out his “2019 Justice Agenda” for the first 100 days of 2019.  In the 45-minute speech Cuomo declared New York independent from the United States of America saying “Let this agenda be New York’s Declaration of Independence.  We declare independence from this federal government’s policies”.

Informed Conservative week in review 12/17/18 through 12/23/18.

This week on the Informed Conservative we talked about former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik calling out Governor Murphy over the high capacity magazine ban, Immigrant rights advocates demonstrating in Trenton for driver licenses for undocumented illegal immigrants, Cory Booker again being asked about his sexuality, ICE having a productive year despite Liberal opposition, Murphy highlighting his “accomplishments” in 2018, NJ Democrats censuring one of their own, the shooting in Edison being another example of NJ’s misguided gun laws, we pleaded with the people of Tanzania to keep Murphy and make him their leader and let you know how the partial government shutdown will impact us in NJ.

A plea to the people of Tanzania. Please keep Murphy and make him your leader.

According to a story on NJ.com this morning New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and his family are heading to Tanzania for the Christmas holiday.   The Murphys leave for the African nation tonight and will not return until January 2, 2019.  This is the second time Murphy has left the country on vacation since taking office in January.  The Governor and his wife spent 11 days in Italy in July where they own a $7.3 million mansion in the town of Parrano.  Let me say that again.  The multimillionaire former Goldman Sachs executive, with an estimated worth of over $50 million, who frequently talks about income equality, owns a $7.3 million mansion in Italy in addition to a home in Berlin and his Middletown mansion.  I am not complaining about Murphy’s vacations.  In the view of many New Jerseyans every day Murphy spends outside of New Jersey is a good day!

Despite Murphy, Booker and Menendez pushing “Affordable Healthcare” enrollment is down.

Despite a push by Murphy, Booker and Menendez fewer New Jerseyans are signing up for healthcare through the exchange as the December 15, 2018 deadline approaches.  Enrollment is down 16% from last year.  While the Trump Administration removed mandates Murphy signed laws last Spring to create a state income tax penalty for those who do not have healthcare coverage.  Still signups are down.

Republicans do have a sense of humor!

Steve Kush, who writes for the Bob & Steve Show blog always adds his humorous twist to South Jersey politics and keeps readers entertained.  Today it’s Cumberland GOP Chairman Michael Testa and Gloucester County GOP Chairwoman Jacci Vigilante who made me laugh in their press releases welcoming Menendez to South Jersey while pointing out serious issues plaguing the southern part of the state.   Continue reading “Republicans do have a sense of humor!”

President Trump indicates he may support Congress easing the U.S. ban on marijuana.

If you didn’t already know from reading this blog I am a Conservative.  I am against Socialism and support Capitalism.  I support conservative values, less regulation and government interference in our lives and a conservative approach to fiscal matters.  I believe that we are a nation of laws and the government is obligated to enforce those laws.  I believe that we should take care of children, the elderly and those with physical or mental impairments but able bodied adults should support themselves and their own families (I am a strong proponent of welfare to work programs vs. lifetime welfare).  I believe in a legal path to citizenship and vetting of those who want to come to the U.S.  I am a strong proponent of the First Amendment and our right to free speech.  I am a strong proponent of the Second Amendment and our right to bear arms.   I believe America is the greatest country on earth and the land of opportunity (one only has to know my personal story to know why I believe America is the land of opportunity).  I am thankful to be an American.  It’s no secret that I support President Trump and support mostly Republican candidates in the mid-term elections (I don’t vote down party lines I vote for the best candidates.  There are some Republicans I do not support.  That is no secret either).  Continue reading “President Trump indicates he may support Congress easing the U.S. ban on marijuana.”
