Last week the Informed Conservative covered NYC Mayor de Blasio wanting to end private control of property, Governor Murhy’s State of the State Address, Senator Menendez’s anger at Fox News for reporting that he was on the beach in Puerto Rico with a woman while the government shutdown continued, Investigative journalist Laura Loomer bringing illegal immigrants to Nancy Pelosi’s house seeking sanctuary, Alexandria Ocasio-Corte making a sexually charged comment during an interview, The View hosts challenging NYC Mayor de Blasio, New Jersey placing first again, Nancy Pelosi’s ridiculous solution to the crisis on our southern border, President Trump’s plan for border security and ending the government shutdown and Congressional Democrats showing they don’t care about border security, the government shutdown or the American people.
By now we’ve all seen the picture of Menendez shirtless on the beach in Puerto Rico with a woman during the government shutdown. Menenzez traveled to Puerto Rico on a chartered flight with 30 other Democratic lawmakers, 109 lobbyists and corporate executives and their families to attend the Congressional Hispanic Caucus BOLD PAC winter retreat in San Juan. The weather forecast in San Juan was sunny and 80 degrees. Meanwhile the 5,487 New Jerseyans who work for government agencies that are not funded due to the shutdown were stuck in 31 degrees, snow and worried about how they will feed their families. Menendez doesn’t seemed concerned about the government shutdown while he’s enjoying a $429 per night oceanfront resort in San Juan.
It was an interesting week in New Jersey from the $15 minimum wage moving forward to the state’s failed response to a relatively small snow event.
I am self-employed and work an average of 14 hours a day and often times work 6 or 7 days in a week. Rest is important to me. Most nights I lay down around 7:00, scroll social media and news sites or watch YouTube videos for an hour or so and go to sleep by 8:00 in anticipation of my alarm going off at 4:00 AM. Most of the time I try to avoid nighttime topics that I know will keep me awake either angry or thinking about them. Last night I was unsuccessful in that endeavor having stumbled upon a Facebook post from Governor Murphy and laying awake reading the comments.
