Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez jokes about “running a train”. Do Democrats think she’s simply working on the train home?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the junior Congresswoman who has quickly become a laughingstock in the media and on social media told the Washington Post when asked  about her critics “enjoy being exhausted for the next two years while we run train on the progressive agenda”.  If you are not familiar with the phrase the Urban Dictionary defines “running a train” as when 3 or more males take turns having sex with one female and having her perform sexual favors for them.  The Urban Dictionary gives an example of the phrase used in a sentence “yeah we running a train on dat bitch”.  Despite the 29-year old being a hero to millennials is this appropriate language for a United States Congresswoman to use in a media interview?

Can you imagine if Ocasio-Cortez was a Republican and said she’d “run a train” on her conservative agenda?  CNN, MSNBC, The View, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel would talk about nothing else for years!  Somehow Ocasio-Cortez gets a pass. She’s been proven uninformed on issues she tries to speak authoritatively on over and over and acts like a spoiled teenager almost daily on social media.  I’ve watched her on social media time and time again claim her critics call her out because she’s a woman failing to admit she’s uninformed.  The closest she’s come is saying she’d prefer to be “morally right” then “factually correct” telling 60 Minutes last week “I think that there a lot of people more concerned with being precisely, factually and semantically correct than about being morally right”.   One of my favorite Ocasio-Cortez moments on Twitter is when she called herself “Alex from the Bronx” making reference to the Jennifer Lopez song “Jenny from the Block”.  Ocasio-Cortez has tried to position herself as a hero to the people of Bronx New York while in reality she grew up in a solidly middle class neighborhood in Westchester County.

This is your Congresswoman New York.

You expect me to say that Democrats were outraged right?  That they publicly condemned Ocasio-Cortez for her sexually charged remark?  Nancy Pelosi came out publicly asking Ocasio-Cortez to apologize?  Maxine Waters told the press how shocked she is?  Anyone on the left publicly said anything?  I’m sorry to disappoint you.

On Tuesday Ocasio-Cortez Tweeted that she will join Maxine Waters on the House Financial Services Committee.   The powerful committee oversees banks, lending and financial services.  Ocasio-Cortez Tweeted “I am very grateful for the opportunity to sit on this committee as a freshman, and look forward to working under the leadership of @RepMaxineWaters!”.  She added “Personally, I’m looking forward to digging into the student loan crisis, examining for-profit prisons/ICE detention, and exploring the development of public & postal banking. To start”.

Ocasio-Cortez went from Bartender to Congresswoman to member of the House Financial Services Committee in about 15 minutes.  Working the cash register at the bar qualifies “Alex from the Bronx” for a powerful financial services committee right?  If Ocasio-Cortez was Maxine Waters best choice for this committee there is more of a crisis in the Democratic party than any of us thought!

Let’s give the Democrats benefit of the doubt.  After all maybe Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters don’t know what “running a train” means.  Maybe they thought she would be working on the train back to Westchester County and applaud her for her hard work and dedication.  Maybe Pelosi will release a statement today “Look at our junior Democratic Congresswoman working hard while running the train between DC and New York.  Isn’t she great?”

Can someone please share this blog and the definition of “running a train” with Pelosi and Waters?
