Due to last Sunday’s rain the Pennsauken Car & Bike Show will take place this Sunday September 30, 2018 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm along Maple Avenue in Pennsauken. Registration for those showing vehicles will take place at Pinsetter Bar & Bowl.
As a car enthusiast this is my favorite local event of the year. I have shown my car(s) prior years and have been impressed with this well organized show. Obviously others in the local car community are equally impressed as I’ve met car enthusiasts and their vehicles from all over South Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area at the Pennsauken show.
What makes this event all the more impressive to me is that Duke Martz, Pennsauken’s Director of Parks and Recreation who is responsible for the show, is not a car enthusiast (or at least does not own a collector car himself as far as I know) yet he puts on a very well organized and well attended show. I’ve been showing my collector cars for years. Most shows are put on by car clubs or enthusiasts and many are not nearly as impressive as the Pennsauken show.
In addition to the cars and motorcycles there will be food, vendors and crafters offering items for purchase and a kids zone with bounce houses, balloon twisting and face painting.
Regrettably I will not be in attendance this year because of a prior obligation with my car club. Has it not rained last Sunday I had planned on being there with my car despite having surgery two days before and barely being ambulatory. This week unfortunately I have another show on my calendar with my car club.
This is me standing between two of my cars that I bought to last year’s show. My 1992 Cadillac Allante (a Nevada car that I’ve owned since 2002) and my triple white 1991 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Spring Edition (which I have since sold).
This Sunday’s weather looks to be sunny with a high of 76 degrees. I hope that you’ll bring your family to this great Pennsauken event!
